The Poetry Corner

When you live in a home with three small muses, poetry is everywhere.
Sometimes I write it down…
sleepless nights1

House of Books Someone built a house of cards and thought it was so clever – To save it from the wind he went and glued those cards together. Someone built a house of straw and thought it was so quaint – To have a thatched façade instead of plasterboard and paint. Someone built a house of sticks and thought it was so grand, He found the sticks on sale and so built twice as big as planned. Someone else looked down his nose and built his house of bricks – Bricks are far superior to cards, or straw, or sticks. But we invested otherwise and built our house of books. We filled each room with rows of shelves and cosy reading nooks. Our walls we weaved with words. Our stories seeped in deep. Covers covered us at night and warmed us while asleep. It is not flash or showy. It did not go up fast. But we know our house of books is one that’s built to last.
