A sleepy morning kiss,
A tiny-armed embrace.
No amount of coffee,
Could beat that little face.
And thus the day begins
With all its ups and downs.
The work, the rest, the play.
The laughter and the frowns.
But when the bold moon rises
To herald in the night.
A happy bedtime ritual
Makes everything just right.
Cuddles in the morning,
A big hug before bed.
A smattering of kisses,
Atop a tiny head.
Nothing else around,
Could make me feel this way.
Those perfect little moments;
Bookends to my day.

oh you are magic

This is very sweet, and very touching! I love the description of these lovely little gestures as being the ‘bookends’ of your day. Lovely!

Thank you. Yes, they’re a perfect way to hold the rest of the day together.
What a beautiful poem! Oh those tiny arms embraces, how they melt so many worries away. I love them, love them, love them. Thanks for the extras of these that feeding, rocking, dancing etc to sleep brings ๐ #CommentLuv

Thank you so much. Yes, bedtime can be an extra special treat when you get a happy sleepy time ritual going!
Aw, this is lovely. Unfortunately, Baby Bear tends to wake up screaming (and screaming and screaming) and go to bed crying. Tyger varies. Sometimes he wakes in a good mood and is happy to go to bed!

Thanks. Yes, bedtime here can sometimes be less than smooth, but I always get a cuddle at some stage of proceedings!
Your bookends are very special.

What a delightful poem, I love it! Perfectly captures just how I feel with my little one – she’s sleeping really well at the moment so is a joy to put to bed and I love seeing her little face every morning! Thanks for sharing #TwinklyTuesday

Bed time can be really wonderful when they’ve got to that point of being good little sleepers. Thanks for such a lovely comment.
Awww I love this poem. I never thought of those things as bookends to the day, but what a brilliant sentiment. The tiny-armed embraces truly are the best parts of my day ๐

What a gorgeous poem – those little moments are so precious and so perfectly captured in this – I especially love the final verse and the description of them being “bookends to my day” is beautiful.
